Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital is the ideal Model of public-private partnership Praise from the District Collector for hospital service during the Covid-19 period Special honor to Chancellor Dr. Sanjay D Patil.

District Collector Mr. Daulat Desai emphatically praised the work done by Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Institute, Kadamwadi, during the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that, the hospital has set an example of Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the field of medicine by extending a helping hand to the government during this time of crisis. This helped to reduce the stress on the government health system by providing excellent services through a dedicated Covid Center. District Collector Mr. Daulat Desai specially felicitated the Chancellor of D. Y. Patil Education Society (Deemed University) Dr. Sanjay D. Patil. A letter appreciating the efforts and work done by the institution was handed over to the Chancellor at this occasion Desai said that the hospital played a key role in providing labor room services, pediatric intensive care services round the clock and took over the work load of the government hospital. This played an important role in providing health services to all the citizens of the district. In a very short period of time, the hospital managed to establish the NABL Accredited ‘Molecular Biological Laboratory’ for performing the RTPCR testing for the SARS Cov 2 virus. This enabled early diagnosis and management of Covid patients. It also helped to reduce the heavy burden of the CPR hospital. In this crisis, Desai said in the letter that, the support and cooperation given by Dr. D. Y Patil Hospital to CPR Hospital was remarkable. As the number of Covid patients increased, the hospital voluntarily got converted to Dedicated Covid Hospital. Round the clock services in the form of fever/flu OPD, isolation room, Covid wards, ICU, and all lifesaving services for critically ill patients was provided. The good recovery of the hospital brought smiles on the faces of patients and their relatives. This is a testament of the incomparable dedication of the medical and all staff of the hospital, the district collector said. The hospital has done an invaluable job as an extension arm of the public health care facility. While congratulating the team of the hospital, Mr. Desai hoped that they would continue to work for the betterment of the society with the same spirit of cooperation and team spirit. On this occasion, trustee of the organization Mr. Prithviraj Patil, Dean Dr. R. K. Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr. Vaishali Gaikwad, Deputy Registrar Mr. Sanjay Jadhav and Assistant Registrar Mr. Ajit Patil were also present.
