Announcement of Dr. D. Y. Patil Life-Time Achievement Award and

Best-Teacher-Employee Awards.

The D. Y. Patil Education Society Deemed to be University, each year announces Dr. D. Y. Patil Life-Time Achievement Award and Best-Teacher-Employee Awards. The names of awardees were declared by Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Sanjay D. Patil via the online platform on the auspicious 85^th Birthday of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Saheb.

This year D. Y. Patil Life-Time Achievement Award was announced to Senior Adv. Shivajirao Chavan for his active participation during establishment of various Educational Institutions under the D. Y. Patil Group umbrella. In those days he resolved many technical issues. In addition, he has done long term social service in the field of Law &Judiciary. The nature of award is a citation certificate, emblem and cash prize of Rs. 1 lac. The award was given at the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mudgal. In reply to this honour, Adv. Chavan proudly lauded significant progress made by the D. Y. Patil Group of Institutions. He alluded to his association with the Founder President Hon’ble Dr. D. Y. Patil Saheb and his personal role in resolving the issues during early days. He expressed his satisfaction for being part of the progress of D. Y. Patil Educational Institutions.

Hon’ble Chancellor further announced Dr. D. Y. Patil Best Teacher Awards to Professor of Paediatrics Dr. Mohan Patil,  Professor & Head Department of TB & Chest Medicine Dr. Mohan Potdar, Professor& Head Department of Psychiatry Dr. Gurudas Harshe and the Senior Teacher Surgeon Dr. Arvind Kulkarni. They were each given a citation certificate, emblem and cash prize of Rs. 1 lac in honour of their services to education.

Hon’ble Chancellor also declared the Sou. Shantadevi D. Patil Best Employee Awards to the Stenographer Mr. Rajan Ghatage, Head-Clerks Mr. Shivaji Bhosale and Mrs. Vrushali Mahajani, Peon Mr. Balasaheb Bhosale and Security Guard Mr. Krushnat Khondre, for their long and honest services to the D. Y. Patil Medical College. Accepting the felicitations,  Dr. Mohan Potdar and Mrs. Vrushali Mahajani expressed satisfaction& happiness that their services were truly recognized and honoured.

Hon’ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shimpa Sharma announced that, the inauguration of “Simulation & Skill Centre” was done at the auspicious hands of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil through online mode. She mentioned that, this Centre will be of great help toall the students, faculty, Doctors to achieve various clinical & surgical professional skills, which will be of great help in their profession.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mudgal in his presidential speech, took the review of changing trends in Higher Education and need to offer quality education.

The University honoured and felicitated the Project Manager- Structural Engineer Mr. Sadanand Sabnis and advisor Mr. Vrundan Jadhav for their tireless efforts to complete the simulation & Skills Centre. The Vice-Chancellor also honoured Dean Dr. R. K. Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr.Vaishali Gaikwad and Assistant Registrar Mr. Ajit Patil as representatives of all Doctors and employees who have done tremendous work during COVID-19 pandemic and served the public of Kolhapur.

The Registrar Dr. Vishwanath Bhosale welcomed the audience and placed few honours and achievements of Dr. D. Y. Patil Saheb, for the information of the audience. The recorded programme of inauguration of Simulation & Skills Centre was shown to all.

The Dean Dr. R. K. Sharma spoke on the various activities undertaken in the hospital and expressed his gratitude towards all faculty, employees and technicians who have worked day and night during COVID-19 pandemic. He concluded by offering the vote of thanks.
